The miles of fine sandy beaches along the coast from the Bay of the Somme to Boulogne may prove too strong an attraction to the family to give you much time for anything else.  But, just in case you could do with some ideas for outings during your holiday stay, here are a few suggestions.

Sand Yachting at Fort Mahon

Hire Bikes to ride on the cycle track from Le Crotoy to St Valery - and return on the steam train

See the seal colony at Le Hourdel  

 

For parents and older family

The Battlefield Memorials and War Cemeteries of the  Somme

Visit the battlefield of Crecy and the superb visitor centre and Museum at Agincourt (Azincourt)

The light show on summer evenings at Amiens Cathedral

A day out shopping in Lille

Walk the ramparts of  the old town of Montreuil

Visit the medieval walled town and the fishing harbour of St Valery

Play a round of golf on the famous courses at Belle Dune, Le Touquet, or Hardelot

Buy fish straight from the boat on the quay at Etaples
